magic garden

Just an Inspiration post, Editorials from so-en (april 2009), and Li Edelkoort's Bloom.

I spent a lot of time in the Japanese bookstore, love the magazines, and love their Editorials.

And then the Bloom! like the View on Colour (sadly they stopped publishing :( are my bibles, my desires, I want them all haha and they are massive expensive.. but Li Edelkoort is a true Genius! So when ever possible I'll go and treat myself for a magazine (I really want the back issues too)

I hope and shall do my best to expose you all as much as possible to her work lol.. especially the View on Colours are really good and I'm so happy I have a few..

On another note.. I'm still busy with my tights :) and have decided to, when I finish them to give them away, because I fucking hate it when fashion/art becomes fucking unobtainable.. What the fuck are Marc, Karl and whoever thinking? for who the fuck are they designing? certainly not for their so called fucking muses because hey, the fucked up artist, the grunge rockstar or tainty model has no fucking money!.. its a marketing campain running and thats it, they need to become fucking real! so I refuse to charge a fucking 150 dollars for my tights, because calculating materials and time that would be it and they will not last, tights have no long life by all means..

But I will do a whole post about it and hope other designers are willing to join in :) I was thinking a la "haute for free" or "couture giveaway" whatever.. please let me know if you guys are up for it...

Lovely photos. You sound so angry! But I do agree - designer prices have become ridiculous. Oh the girl who gets the giveaway will be so lucky! xo Sushi

Thanks. It took me a couple days. I don't know the amount of time because I would work on it late at night. But now I'm a becoming a DIY addict. Do you have any suggests for what to do next?

Yes, I totally agree that designers jack up the price of their goods way too high!!

Great inspiration post!! :D

Ah yes, I'd love to get designer items but some prices are just ridiculous!

I agree. Inflated prices are so unfair :( It shouldn't be about who has the most money.
Great post :D

I just saw the post before this one and I think your tights ideas are fabulous! I am the type of girl who buys a lot of tights/leggings/thigh high socks/etc, so I am in awe with your beautiful designs and I know I would wear them :)

I couldn't agree more about the unattainable prices of designer clothing. Well, I think it's amazing that you're willing to do that and I hope you find some people as talented as you are to collaborate with :)

That is such a great way to give people the opportunity of fashion! Like a couture swap shop? I'd so join in with that :)

Thank you for comment posted on my blog, I'm a sucker for magazines that have an intersting cover person (girl) on its cover that the average person would not think to see on a cover of a magazine. That is why I was so tempted to buy Dazed because of Bat for Lashes was on it, strange huh?

As for the goodies you can't go wrong with them, love them.

It would good to see more people (fashion designers) taking ownership/responsibility of how fashion is created and consumed for the masses. I think too that designers though they create sometimes great items it is like WTF should I pay x amount money for something I can get in a chain store for less. I suppose it comes down to quality?

totally agree about pricing. i shudder when i look at price of balmain. even retail stores that have low quality clothing for high prices. ugh. love our posts . so feminine and pretty x

exactly, creativity is lost when you put a price tag on it. money's great, but aren't ideas and making something beautiful even greater? so yah, i totally hear you in your rant.

btw, i added you to me fave blogs, so i hope you don't mind :)

How right you are! I think I had this exact conversation last week with a friend.
I would venture to say that these designers are no longer designing for their artist, rockstar muses but for rich, coked out, socialites.

And yeah, I kinda see myself all over the internet too, haha, found like atleast 30 blogs featuring my pictures and writing stuff about me the last few weeks.

ha! well now i know the answer to the mystery of whether you are selling your tights or not! you know what drives me crazy? i want everyone to have what i make. because i make them with my own hands. it is how i communicate. i want to share an object. but i can't give my things away. though i trade and give away as much as i can. the hours it takes to make them kills me. but it's such a pretty game i want to play. a pretty game with a very demanding infrastructure that can't be ignored. i do giveaways on my site sometimes. it makes me happy!!! and everyone wants your tights :)
